Head football coach at UTSA for less than two years, Larry Coker has presided over almost every aspect of the Roadrunners’ fledgling program with a steady hand and the voice of experience.
On Wednesday, Coker will be front and center once more when he introduces UTSA’s second recruiting class at a 1:30 p.m. news conference on campus.
“We’re real excited about the commitments we’ve gotten,” Coker said. “I’m still amazed at the quality of kids we’ve been able to attract here, but then I shouldn’t be because this is Texas and there are a lot of great football players in this state.”
Coker said the Roadrunners could sign as many as 28 players Wednesday, the first day high school seniors can national letters of intent.
UTSA’s second recruiting class is expected to include eight players from the San Antonio area.
